If your contractor did a good job, your roof would have an even and uniform appearance, which means each and every shingle is thoughtfully installed with precision across all the angles of your roof. This may be difficult to spot from the ground, but will be revealed once you’re up close and personal.
2. The So-called “Rainbow” Roof
A roofing contractor typically describes a roof that seems to have different colors as a rainbow roof. It could be a case where one layer of shingles is not aligned with another. While mostly an aesthetic issue, it could be a poor reflection on the part of your roofer. If you notice a non-uniform colored roof, it might be enough reason to have the rest of it checked out, just to be sure.
3. Improper Nail Use
Nailing down shingles may seem like a pretty straightforward task, but you’d be surprised at how many inexperienced roofing contractors get this wrong. With a correctly installed roof, proper nailing techniques are always observed. If your roofer used the wrong sized nails, for instance, it could lead to missing shingles and leaks.
