Asphalt Roofs Look Cheap
They may not be the most expensive options on the market, but asphalt shingles, when properly installed, do not look cheap at all. Technological advancements have also paved the way for asphalt shingle options that mimic the appearance of other, more expensive roofing materials without costing as much. For instance, GAF offers Timberline® shingles that are a great alternative to wood shakes. Their Marquis WeatherMax® and Royal Sovereign® options, meanwhile, are reminiscent of the classic 3-tab shingle structure of older asphalt roofs.
Asphalt Roofs Are Weak
